Crayon Resist

These are the cards that we made at my Crayon Resist Techniques Class afew weeks ago. Everyone loved the cards, but I am less than impressed with my photography skills.

The main trick when doing crayon resist is to use a WAX CRAYON. The best ones I have found are the crayola twistables, as they don't break & always keep a good tip.

Stampsets: Lovely as a Tree, It's your Birthday
Cardstock: Whisper White, Close to Cocoa, Choc Chip, Old Olive, Basic Black, White Gloss
Ink: Black Staz On, Choc Chip, Old Olive
Accessories: Daubers, Color Spritzer, Choc Chip Stampin' Wrtie Marker, Choc Wide Grosgrain, Round Tab Punch

This next card is a modified version of one we were shown at Convention - I loved the colours & layout so much I had to CASE it. If someone can remember the demonstrators name I would love to give her credit.

Stampsets: Time Well Spent, Sanded background, Lots of Thoughts (retired SAB set)
Cardstock: River Rock, Purely Pomegranite, Vellum Cardstock, White Gloss
Ink: Black Staz On, River Rock, Purely Pomegranite, Groovy Guava
Accessories: Daubers, Double Stitched Guava Grosgrain, Mat Pack & Piercing tool

If you couldn't make it to the class but would like to make these cards let me know - I can run the class again, or get together with afew of your friends & I will travel to your house & teach you. The next technique covered in my classes will be Faux Metal on the 23rd of May at 7pm.

Don't forget to leave a comment on my previous post to be in the running to win one of the cute little triangle boxes & some new ribbon samples.

Launch aftermath & BLOG CANDY

What a fun afternoon - thanks to all the lovely ladies who attended. We had a great time chatting, making cards, eating the yummy scones that Lisa & Fay brought (thanks girls) & hopefully everyone learned something new also.

This is the first Make & Take that everyone got to make. As per most of my cards it is CASEd - I found this one on Splitcoast Stampers (see the link on the side). It uses one of my favourite new stamp sets - Baroque Motifs, I just love the swirl!
Here is abit of a close up of the centre flower. It has been inked up in Groovy Guava ink then the edges rolled in Really Rust ink before being stamped. See the cute brad in the centre - it is just a silver one with a mini glue dot poped on the end & then dipped in glitter, this is such an easy way to add some bling.

Stampsets: Baroque Motifs
Cardstock: Whisper White
Inks: River Rock, Groovy Guava, Really Rust
Accessories: Silver Brad, Mini Glue Dots, Dazzling Diamons Glitter, Crystal Effects

This is the second Make & Take - & yep, it's another CASE. This time from the clever Tracey ,who I was lucky enough to meet at Convention & receive a swap from. All the colours used are from the new In-colours - don't they look fantastic, I'm loving them!

Stampsets: Oh So Lovely, Boho Backgrounds, So Many Sayings
Cardstock: Blue Bayou, Groovy Guava, Purely Pomegranite, Watercolour Paper
Inks: Groovy Guava, Blue Bayou, Wild Wasabi, Purely Pomegranite
Accessories: Blue Bayou Double Stitched Ribbon, Aquapainter, Word Window Punch, Dimensionals

Now for the BLOG CANDY. Above is a triangle box & ribbon sample that everyone who attended received & I have afew left over. If you would like to win one, simply leave me a comment on this post, or send me an email - alana@aussiebroadband.com.au. The kids will draw a couple of winners out, probably on the weekend.

Yesterday we finally made the kids a sandpit (we've only lived here for 3 years *rolling eyes*) they had such a great time playing in it & digging tunnels etc, though I'm sure 1/2 of the sand has already been either tipped out or brought inside!!

New stuff ............

I've been having lots of fun playing with products from the new catty, I'm loving the new Fall Flowers double sided papers. They have been used to make the criss cross card below, along with another new favourite of mine - the scalloped circle punch!

Stampin' Up! Convention

Well I'm back from Brisbane & I had such a fun time. It was so great to meet & chat with some of the lovely & very talented demonstrators from around Australia. All of the sessions I attended were so motivational & I learnt alot. One of the highlights of the Convention for me, was to sit next to the Cofounder & CEO of Stampin' Up! Shelli Gardener at the awards dinner. Shelli is a gorgeous lady, but also a beautiful person & talented stamper, it was lovely to get to know her abit better. Here are a few pics of some of my goodies from Convention.
This is the fabulous bag & 2 stamp sets that everyone received. I know, there are 3 stamp sets pictured, thats because I was lucky enough to win one - yay.

These are the projects we made at our Make & Take sessions. The 12x12 scrapbook page uses Forever in my Heart & Jumbo Outline Alpha stamp sets. The cute box & obscured card use the Happiness background stamp & the 3 gorgeous notecards use the Fun & Fast Notes stampset - it was lots of fun learning how to watercolour these images

Here's abit of a closer look at one of the notecards.
These are the swaps I took with me & in return ........................

I received these. They are all just fantastic & I have lots of new ideas. Next year the Convention will be in Canberra & I can't wait to go!

I'm off ........

... to the 2008 Stampin' Up! Convention that is! I didn't get back with the ATC's, sorry but now you will have to wait abit longer. Tomorrow morning I am heading to Brisbane for afew fun filled days of stamping. Hopefully I will also learn some new things to be able to come back & show you.

I CASEd these cards from Jayne from awhile ago, so thought I'd put the pics on here to give you something to look at until next week. They use one of the new Level 3 Hostess Sets - Time Well Spent. The sentiment stamp is a retired set from the old catalogue.I also received some stamp sets today from the new catalogue & they are soooooo nice. Sadly I have no time left to play with them, so they will have to wait til I get back on Sunday :(
