The Domino Effect

Did you know that dominoes are not only good at teaching your kids how to count, but the are also great for mounting stamps!

This is one of our fantastic new hostess sets, So Many Sayings, it has 34 lines with little greeting etc on them. It comes with 3 wooden blocks for them to be mounted on, however I have mounted mine onto dominoes. Not only does this make it alot more versatile, but they are so easy to line up when stamping & still all fit into the box! My kids won't be counting with these ones anymore - luckily I bought 2 sets when I was in the reject shop the other day. FYI it takes one whole set, plus 6 extra from the kids set to mount all the stamps in So Many Sayings individually!!

I made this card for an INKlings card swap, but am not entirely happy with how it turned out. I have used the poppin' pastels technique for the bucking horse & was happy with that, but the rest of the card is abit of a disaster-sorry to the girls in the swap :-( The only reason I am posting it here is because it is the only card I have a pic of that uses So Many Sayings!

Stampsets: Bronc Buster, So Many Sayings

Paper: Choc Chip, Really Rust, Sahara Sand, Outlaw DSP

Ink: Versamark, Choc Chip

Accessories: Antique Brass Brad, Stampin' Pastels

Alana, your card is definitely NOT a disaster! My hubby was immediately drawn to it when I showed him our swaps and I think it is really creative. The dominoes are a terrific idea - I just cut and mounted my So Many Sayings yesterday and it cried out for lateral thinking. I was considering posting how I did mine but you beat me to it!

Alana - have I told you how much you ROCK!

Alas and alack... no white dominoes anywhere to be had here in downtown Narellan/Camden - boohoo :(

I love that idea of the dominos, Alana! I think I will be casing it, if that's ok!

I wanted to get the 'So many sayings' set but was worried about stamping with it and was going to mount it on different parts of the block but i much rather your groovy take on it. Thanks for the idea!

How very clever! I was put off by the long stamps but by mounting them on the dominos you can use them individually. Clever! BTW, I do like your bucking bronco card - it is very masculine and I think sometimes that is the hardest card to make :)

That is such a cool idea Alana........I have been thinking about what to do with that set when I earn it! I love your card too.....that is such a fun set to work with.......I'm using a similar idea for a stamp-a-stack this w/e....there's always a need for more ideas for male cards.I'll post it on my blog soon.

I love this idea, I have yet to mount the 4th image in "Boho Backgrounds" off to find those domino's.
